How to join – New Members

A new member is someone who has never been a member of Beeston u3a.

If you have previously been a member, and that membership has lapsed or you resigned, please contact the membership secretary on In most cases we can reactivate your record and you keep your original membership number.

Full and associate members can join Beeston u3a either online or by post. There are separate arrangements for cluster members: see below.

  1. On-Line

New members can join online by entering their details directly into our Beacon system which is supplied and supported by u3a. When you join online you will be using the PayPal system to make your payment.

You DO NOT need to have an account with PayPal to use the system. PayPal will take the payment on behalf of other payment cards, debit or credit. PayPal will send an email to confirm your payment to you and advise the Membership Secretary that you have joined through the Beacon system.

  1. By Post

If you prefer not to join online, you may join by downloading and printing the membership form from here. Please contact the Membership Secretary on who will advise you of the correct address to send your cheque to  Please make the cheque payable to ‘Beeston u3a’, and ensure you write your name and/or address on the reverse of the cheque. See Information and Fees page for amount. When your application has been processed, you will get an email confirming this.

Cluster members

If you wish to join online please contact the Membership Secretary on before starting. If you complete a paper membership application form, please note that there is no charge for cluster membership, however, in order for your application to be processed online through Beacon PayPal requires a nominal payment of £0.01p.
