How to join – New Members

There are 3 different membership classes in Beeston U3A: Individual, Associate, and Cluster membership.

Individual Members
Most U3A members come into this category.

Associate Members
This is available for those who have already paid a full membership subscription to another U3A in the current financial year. When applying to or renewing Associate Membership you will need to declare which U3A you are a full member of.

Cluster Members
Beeston U3A is part of a cluster of U3As in this area, which includes Ilkeston, Long Eaton and Stapleford. Members may attend up to three groups at any of our cluster partners without needing to join that U3A. Members of our cluster groups should still fill in a Beeston U3A membership form to enable group leaders to contact you with information about future meetings.

How to join – New Members
There are three ways of joining Beeston U3A as a full member or associate member. Cluster members: see end of this page.

1. On-Line
New members can join online by entering their details directly into our Beacon system which is supplied and supported by U3A.

When you join online you will be using the PayPal system to make your payment.

You DO NOT need to have an account with PayPal to use the system. PayPal will take the payment on behalf of other payment cards, debit or credit. PayPal will send an email to confirm your payment to you and advise the Membership Secretary that you have joined through the Beacon system.

You can then print your membership card yourself, or it can be collected at the open meeting in the church hall at the designated table.
You can join online by clicking this link.

2. Open Meeting
You can join Beeston U3A at the Open Meeting held on the first Thursday of each month from 9.45am to 10:20am. Payment can be made by cheque or cash. Your membership card will be available either at the next Open Meeting or at the next New Members Coffee Morning, to which you will be invited.

3. By Post
You may also join by downloading and printing the membership form from here and posting it to the Membership Secretary together with your cheque. Please email the Membership Secretary on for details of where to send your cheque: do not send to Beeston Methodist Church.

You must include a stamped addressed envelope so that your membership card may be returned to you.
