How to Join

All U3A’s are autonomous under the umbrella of the national body “The Third Age Trust.  Each U3A is a Charity.

The third age refers to the period of time after the First Age of Childhood dependence and the second age of full time employment and parental responsibility.  Anyone in the Third Age can join, including people who work part time.  There is no lower age limit for membership.

Come to an open meeting and the joining process will be explained to you. There is no commitment to join at that meeting but you can meet other members and leaders of groups which you might be interested in.

The Open Meeting is held monthly, at 10.30am on the first Thursday of each month at Chilwell Road Methodist Church, Chilwell Road, Beeston.  Individual groups meet at various locations in the area.

How Much?
The annual subscription is £12 for 2018-2019. In addition each interest group has to be self financing and therefore, depending on the activity, there may be a small charge per session to cover room hire and any other relevant costs or expenses of that group.

If you join after the end of September in any year. the subscription is reduced to £10.

NB renewals will be £12, though, as it is assumed you will have been attending Groups so far in 2018-2019.

Subscription reduced to £6 for the remainder of 2018-2019.

Cheques should be made payable to Beeston U3A.
